Set on a compact 214 m² plot in Bucharest, this project transforms an existing house through partial demolition, structural consolidation, interior reconfiguration, extension, and the addition of a new upper level. The result is a contemporary P+1 dwelling that redefines the small urban lot with clarity, balance, and attention to light.
The new volume blends clean white surfaces with warm wooden cladding and contrasting black metal elements. Subtle textural shifts and carefully placed openings create a dynamic yet harmonious façade, while pergolas and terraces introduce depth and a refined play of shadows throughout the day.
Despite the limited site area, the exterior spaces are thoughtfully composed. A timber deck, landscaped greenery, and a generous metal pergola form an inviting outdoor living zone—equally suited for relaxation and social gatherings. The minimalist garden paths and soft evening lighting enhance the sense of calm and spatial coherence.
Through careful material selection and a sensitive reinterpretation of the existing structure, the project achieves a modern, functional home that maximizes every square meter. It stands as a concise example of how intelligent design can regenerate and elevate urban residential architecture.
